Pet of the Week – January 14thBALBOA_HPC

BALBOA

My name is Balboa and I am a friendly, playful, ‘goofy’ guy!

I am good with kids, adults, other dogs, and even cats. My heritage is probably Shepherd and Hound so when they say I am somewhat ‘vocal’, that is the Hound part! Not only a sweet, good dog, I am just downright handsome.

I have been neutered, microchipped, wormed, and fully vaccinated. I am heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventative. My new family will have to like for me to ‘talk’ (cuz that’s what Hounds do), give me heartworm preventative every month, and let me be a youngster for a while longer. I am not a puppy, but still young and active.

For more information call CCHS @ Rockwall Animal Adoption Center, 972-771-7750, Extension 2, or come see me in Rockwall, 1825 Airport Rd.

Pet of the Week – January 7thTRIP

TRIPP

My name is Tripp!!

I am 2- 3 years old and weigh about 50 lbs. I look like a tough guy, but when they ‘cat tested’ me the cat swatted at me and it scared me to death!!! I get along with most dogs, but I have somewhat of a dominant personality – I get a little ‘taken’ with myself! I love to play and will be fine with older kids, but not toddlers or small children…I am a strong fella!! Of course, I do not know who my Daddy is, but chances are he was part Shepherd/Terrier — the shelter says part OX –because I do look big!

I am current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. I am neutered and micro-chipped!! If you would like to see more pictures of me go to CCHS@RAAC. Collin County Humane Society @ Rockwall Animal Adoption Center located at 1825 Airport Rd, Rockwall, TX. Phone 972-771-7750, extension 2.

Pet of the Week – December 10th

MARNI

I am a pretty, sweet, even-tempered, intelligent, and playful LAB and Shar Pei mix (they think). My ears are a little small and floppy!

I am good with adults, kids, and other dogs. Not sure of cats – but, I think, probably NOT!

If you would like to know more about me please call 972 -771-7750. I am at the Collin County Humane Society @ Rockwall Animal Adoption Center, 1825 Airport Road, Rockwall, TX.

Let me tell you, life here is OK, but nothing like a forever home with my OWN family.

Make my Christmas and yours a Merry one – come get me!!!

Pet of the Week – November 26th

PARKER

A beautiful little male believed to be a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix.

Good with other dogs and cats, Parker’s reaction to new people is also friendly. Love wrapped up in a small package.

Parker is neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative, and house-trained.

Parker is at CCHS@RAAC, 1825 Airport Road, Rockwall, TX.
To find out more about Parker or to come see him call 972-771-7750.

Pet of the Week – November 15th

JAZZY

Beautiful mixed breed dog with severe trust issues – exact history is not known. Has been in the Rockwall Shelter since July 2011. She has been in behavioral training at a private facility for three months and has done wonderfully with the trainers and staff. She is very good with them, now, but it was not easy and she still has aggressive/reactive issues with new people.

This is a one in a million chance…We are seeking a Foster/Permanent home with a caring individual that would be willing to come to the training facility and work with her for at least a month to gain her trust before taking her home. She would need to be homed with someone that would not allow her unsupervised interaction with other animals or people. Does this sound cruel? Some animals can be perfectly happy in a quiet, loving, undisturbed atmosphere – JAZZY is just that girl. She needs to be out of a kennel environment.

It is unfortunate that her behavior could not be modified to accept all new people but every effort has been made. Many donors, volunteers, and trainers have tried. If that one in a million home cannot be found, she must be PTS.

JAZZY has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, microchipped, and healthy.

Please call CollinCountyHumaneSociety@Rockwall, 972-771-7750 for more information or to help.

Pet of the Week – November 5th

ASIA

My name is ASIA.

I am a beautiful Shepherd Mix and good with kids, other dogs, and cats. I am just about too good to be true. My only problem is my ears are kinda floppy (I think they are cute) and right now I am getting medicine for an ear infection. I have been neutered, fully vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped.

I am healthy, sweet, fun-loving, heartworm negative, and current on heartworm preventative. Luckily I was picked up as a stray in Rockwall so I have had the best of care!!

I am sweet and fun-loving and really looking for my forever home with a family – big or small!!

Just call 972-771-7750 or come out to CCHS@Rockwall, 1825 Airport Road, Rockwall.

Pet of the Week – October 8th

STELLA

This is STELLA, most likely a Shepherd/Boxer mix!
She is sweet and friendly with new people and gets along with other dogs. Short hair that is a pretty tan/fawn color with some black markings. Has been in the shelter a fairly long time (since March) and really needs a ‘furever’ home. She is thought to be around 2+ years old and is moderately active – but no terrible two’s!

Stella is current on all vaccinations, has been spayed and micro-chipped, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative.

For more information or to put in an adoption application, visit www.RockwallAdoptions.com. or call 972-771-7750. The adoption center is open from 9 – 6 Monday through Friday and 9 – 5 on Saturday.

You will be so HAPPY if you rescue this pretty gal!!!

Pet of the Week – September 17th

BRYAN

I am a striking and charming good Boy about 4-5 years old!!
Not sure who my Daddy was…Shepherd? Husky? Border Collie?Your guess is as good as mine. I am neutered, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, and on heartworm preventative.

I need someone that needs my company as badly as I need theirs!!! There has to be someone!

I am a TORNADO dog and I have ‘separation anxiety’. You will have to be willing to help me with that. A lot to ask, but I need your support, patience, and love. ACO found me sitting on a pile of rubble…can you imagine?

I have been at the Rockwall Shelter for quite awhile and really would love to have a ‘furever’ home of my own.
I am friendly and good with other dogs and kids. I love to ride in the car and I am very good unless you leave me in it – then I might chew the seat.

Pet of the Week- March 19th
BAXTER
A beautiful mix of LAB and Great Pyrenees, pictured doing what he loves most – playing.

If you love to play, exercise, and just have fun with a canine family member, Baxter is your best bet.

Active and playful he needs a nice back yard and good company.

Baxter is current on all vaccinations, has been neutered, is micro-chipped, and heartworm negative.

All you add is LOVE, and of course heartworm preventative – one pill a month.

All of this for $85.00.

Fate.
Who named me?? Do I look like a Fate? Please take me home and give me a pretty, feminine name like Sassy, Suzy, DeeDee – anything but Fate. I am a young ‘mix’ – and your guess is as good as mine. I am a very sweet little girl, love to play and would LOVE a family of my own for Christmas. I have been vaccinated, wormed (Ugh!), micro-chipped and spayed. Just call the Rockwall Shelter, 972-771-7750.

JJ

Looooooook in to my eyes – you want to take me home!!

I am JJ, an absolutely beautiful guy. I am an Australian Shepherd mix and my coat is black, red, gold and chestnut. I am very  friendly, outgoing and of course smart; could be because I am part  Aussie.
I am ADOPTION ready, heartworm negative, neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and current on all of my vaccinations, including Bordatella. All you need to add is LOVE. All of this for just an adoption fee of $85.00. I am actually residing at the Animal Hospital of Fate. They are boarding me (free) because the Rockwall Animal Shelter has been overcrowded lately.
To find out more, call Rockwall Animal Services at 972-771-7750 or Animal Hospital of Fate, 972-722-0066.

Pet of the Week – August 1st:

Puppies!!! We have the cutest Pyrenees mix puppies you have ever seen. These darling babies were born under an abandoned house out in the country and had little chance of surviving on their own in this heat and with a sick mom. But all are doing great now, and they are ready to find their person to love! They are 6 weeks old and have had their first round of puppy shots.

Pet of the Week – July 11th:

Owen

OWEN is a Tri color Anatolian mix who is approximately 18 months old and is a total sweetheart. Owen is starving for attention and loves to be around people. Owen is fine with other dogs, very smart  and eager to please. He is current on shots, neutered and weighs 80 pounds.

Pet of the Week – July 4th:

Gaby

Gaby is a sweet & funny little girl who loves to cuddle and play with toys. She is a Chihuahua mix and is housebroken, crate trained and gets along great with other dogs. She even likes cats too. She’s
approximately 2.5 yrs old, weighs 6 1/2 lbs and is current on all her shots.

Pet of the Week – June 20th:

Sugar

Sugars fits her name perfectly because she simply could not be any sweeter! Sugar is a 2 year old Shepherd Chow mix that is a huge love bug. She is very playful with toys and other dogs and enjoys going for long walks in the park. Sugar rolls over for a belly rub with kids and doesn’t mind  cats either! She is potty trained, spayed, current on all shots and weighs 40 lbs. Sugar will be a great family dog and snuggle companion.

Pet of the Week – June 13th:

Emma

Meet Emma! She is a 3 month old American Staffordshire Terrier and only weighs 18 pounds. She is a wiggly, happy and kissy girl who will shower you with affection. Emma is fine with other dogs and would love a playmate to share her happiness with. Take her home and she will be your best friend!

Pet of the Week – May 23rd:

Drew

Drew is a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback/Yellow Labrador Retriever mix. He is about 2 1/2 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Drew is an exceptional dog – he is extremely intelligent, has very high energy and is very sweet and loving. Drew is best suited for a very active owner, hopefully a runner or jogger. He is intensely focused and has a strong prey drive – so no cats or small animals like rabbits. Drew easily fits in the top 10% of all the dogs we’ve seen for trainability, loyalty and affection. Drew is also crate trained, neither aggressive nor dominant and he would be fine with children.

Pet of the Week – May 16th:

Gatsby

Pet of the Week – May 9th:

Caruso                                                                                            Dafoe

Gwen                                                                              Gwen
We are pleased to announce that Geena has been adopted.

Pet of the Week – April 25th:

Gillian

Gillian is one of 8 puppies found under an abandoned mobile home. The mom is a hound/pointer mix, white with large red orange markings. All the puppies have blue eyes – some are green/blue. They are 8 weeks old now and all vetting, including spay/neuter, will be included in the adoption fee.

Pet of the Week – April 18th:

Laine

Laine is approx. 3 years old and is a medium-sized, female Catahoula mix. Laine was abandoned, along with 10 other dogs, when a rescue group closed and was unable to care for them any longer. She and another of the dogs, Sallie, are in the same foster home and often compare notes on how lucky they are! Laine offers the best of both worlds: she is very playful and outgoing, yet not one bit hyper or overactive. Just an all around great dog! Laine is already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Pet of the Week – April 11th:

Savannah

Savannah is a beautiful 3 year old small Rottie Mix who was rescued from an abusive home. Savannah is a very affectionate and extremely SMART lady who needs that “special” someone to show her the good things in life. She wants you to pet her all the time and she gives great kisses! Because Savannah was kept tightly chained, she will need patience in understanding about being housetrained. This girl needs and deserves a break. She is good with children, but needs to be an only dog and cannot be around cats. Savannah is current on her shots, spayed and weighs 60 pounds.

Pet of the Week – March 28th:

Tracy and Spencer

Found abandoned as pups, these brothers have waited a LONG time to have their own home. The “Twins” each have terrific personalities, are neither aggressive nor dominant, and are appropriate for any family without cats. Tracy is the clown, self-confident and mischievous. Spence is more laid back and timid. Either would make an excellent running partner. They have just gone through formal training at K-9 University and you are welcome to call to talk to their trainer. The Twins are 2 years old, fully vetted and on heartworm preventative. Spencer weighs 70 pounds and Tracy weighs 65 pounds.

Pet of the Week – March 21st:

Bernadette Peters (“Birdie”) is a 3 yr old Pointer / American Bulldog mix.

Her family moved away and left her behind in the yard, alone and without food or water or shelter or care of any kind. It was nearly a month before she was found, yet her gentle and trusting and loving
spirit never flagged. Birdie adores walks and runs (she’d be a fabulous jogging companion!) and will play fetch for as long as you’re willing! Birdie is housetrained, crate trained, and of absolutely superior intelligence. She is good with other dogs but we don’t recommend a home with cats or small kids. She is equally happy to run around the park with you or snuggle on the couch for a good movie. Birdie weighs 65 pounds and is fully vetted and on heartworm prevention. Birdie has been waiting for a long time for a family to love her the way she deserves – can you help us find that family for her,  please?
