Pet of the Week
Marissa News -
Help Marissa find these pets the homes they deserve!
Fate.
Who named me?? Do I look like a Fate? Please take me home and give me a pretty, feminine name like Sassy, Suzy, DeeDee – anything but Fate. I am a young ‘mix’ – and your guess is as good as mine. I am a very sweet little girl, love to play and would LOVE a family of my own for Christmas. I have been vaccinated, wormed (Ugh!), micro-chipped and spayed. Just call the Rockwall Shelter, 972-771-7750.
Lauren, Summer, and Rolo the pug were adopted!
Bob was adopted!
Preston was adopted!
Pet of the Week – September 12th
JJ
Looooooook in to my eyes – you want to take me home!!
I am JJ, an absolutely beautiful guy. I am an Australian Shepherd mix and my coat is black, red, gold and chestnut. I am very friendly, outgoing and of course smart; could be because I am part Aussie.
I am ADOPTION ready, heartworm negative, neutered, wormed, micro-chipped, and current on all of my vaccinations, including Bordatella. All you need to add is LOVE. All of this for just an adoption fee of $85.00. I am actually residing at the Animal Hospital of Fate. They are boarding me (free) because the Rockwall Animal Shelter has been overcrowded lately.
To find out more, call Rockwall Animal Services at 972-771-7750 or Animal Hospital of Fate, 972-722-0066.
Pet of the Week – August 1st:
Puppies!!! We have the cutest Pyrenees mix puppies you have ever seen. These darling babies were born under an abandoned house out in the country and had little chance of surviving on their own in this heat and with a sick mom. But all are doing great now, and they are ready to find their person to love! They are 6 weeks old and have had their first round of puppy shots.
Pet of the Week – July 11th:
OWEN is a Tri color Anatolian mix who is approximately 18 months old and is a total sweetheart. Owen is starving for attention and loves to be around people. Owen is fine with other dogs, very smart and eager to please. He is current on shots, neutered and weighs 80 pounds.
Pet of the Week – July 4th:
Gaby
Gaby is a sweet & funny little girl who loves to cuddle and play with toys. She is a Chihuahua mix and is housebroken, crate trained and gets along great with other dogs. She even likes cats too. She’s
approximately 2.5 yrs old, weighs 6 1/2 lbs and is current on all her shots.
Pet of the Week – June 20th:
Sugar
Sugars fits her name perfectly because she simply could not be any sweeter! Sugar is a 2 year old Shepherd Chow mix that is a huge love bug. She is very playful with toys and other dogs and enjoys going for long walks in the park. Sugar rolls over for a belly rub with kids and doesn’t mind cats either! She is potty trained, spayed, current on all shots and weighs 40 lbs. Sugar will be a great family dog and snuggle companion.
Pet of the Week – June 13th:
Emma
Meet Emma! She is a 3 month old American Staffordshire Terrier and only weighs 18 pounds. She is a wiggly, happy and kissy girl who will shower you with affection. Emma is fine with other dogs and would love a playmate to share her happiness with. Take her home and she will be your best friend!
Pet of the Week – May 23rd:
Drew
Drew is a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback/Yellow Labrador Retriever mix. He is about 2 1/2 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Drew is an exceptional dog – he is extremely intelligent, has very high energy and is very sweet and loving. Drew is best suited for a very active owner, hopefully a runner or jogger. He is intensely focused and has a strong prey drive – so no cats or small animals like rabbits. Drew easily fits in the top 10% of all the dogs we’ve seen for trainability, loyalty and affection. Drew is also crate trained, neither aggressive nor dominant and he would be fine with children.
Pet of the Week – May 16th:
Gatsby
Pet of the Week – May 9th:

Caruso Dafoe
Gwen Gwen
We are pleased to announce that Geena has been adopted.
Pet of the Week – April 25th:
Gillian
Gillian is one of 8 puppies found under an abandoned mobile home. The mom is a hound/pointer mix, white with large red orange markings. All the puppies have blue eyes – some are green/blue. They are 8 weeks old now and all vetting, including spay/neuter, will be included in the adoption fee.
Pet of the Week – April 18th:
Laine
Laine is approx. 3 years old and is a medium-sized, female Catahoula mix. Laine was abandoned, along with 10 other dogs, when a rescue group closed and was unable to care for them any longer. She and another of the dogs, Sallie, are in the same foster home and often compare notes on how lucky they are! Laine offers the best of both worlds: she is very playful and outgoing, yet not one bit hyper or overactive. Just an all around great dog! Laine is already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Pet of the Week – April 11th:
Savannah
Savannah is a beautiful 3 year old small Rottie Mix who was rescued from an abusive home. Savannah is a very affectionate and extremely SMART lady who needs that “special” someone to show her the good things in life. She wants you to pet her all the time and she gives great kisses! Because Savannah was kept tightly chained, she will need patience in understanding about being housetrained. This girl needs and deserves a break. She is good with children, but needs to be an only dog and cannot be around cats. Savannah is current on her shots, spayed and weighs 60 pounds.

Pet of the Week – March 28th:
Found abandoned as pups, these brothers have waited a LONG time to have their own home. The “Twins” each have terrific personalities, are neither aggressive nor dominant, and are appropriate for any family without cats. Tracy is the clown, self-confident and mischievous. Spence is more laid back and timid. Either would make an excellent running partner. They have just gone through formal training at K-9 University and you are welcome to call to talk to their trainer. The Twins are 2 years old, fully vetted and on heartworm preventative. Spencer weighs 70 pounds and Tracy weighs 65 pounds.
Pet of the Week – March 21st:
Bernadette Peters (“Birdie”) is a 3 yr old Pointer / American Bulldog mix.
Her family moved away and left her behind in the yard, alone and without food or water or shelter or care of any kind. It was nearly a month before she was found, yet her gentle and trusting and loving
spirit never flagged. Birdie adores walks and runs (she’d be a fabulous jogging companion!) and will play fetch for as long as you’re willing! Birdie is housetrained, crate trained, and of absolutely superior intelligence. She is good with other dogs but we don’t recommend a home with cats or small kids. She is equally happy to run around the park with you or snuggle on the couch for a good movie. Birdie weighs 65 pounds and is fully vetted and on heartworm prevention. Birdie has been waiting for a long time for a family to love her the way she deserves – can you help us find that family for her, please?
